SALT LAKE CITY—

Former Arizona Cardinals star Pat Tillman gave up his professional football career to fight for his country. A new documentary tells the story of how Tillman died while fighting overseas.

Tillman died while fighting overseas in Afghanistan. The US armed forces told his family he had been killed by enemy fire, but admitted the truth five weeks later; Tillman had been killed by friendly fire.

The story, in addition to telling Tillman’s story, talks of the importance of the US military and of being honest to the nation.

“It means to honor those who are serving in the US military and just reming them and their families that they keep our country free and we deserve to give their families the truth when accidents happen,” said Geralyn Dreyfous, director of the Salt Lake City Film Center.

The documentary will be screened free of charge in Ogden, Salt Lake City, Logan and St. George beginning May 23.
