Cardinals Vs. Seahawks: Arizona Adds D.J. Young…

Read More: Jaymar Johnson (WR – ARI), Brandon Keith (OT – ARI), D.J. Young (OT – ARI), Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks

The Arizona Cardinals are looking to finish their season on a high note against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, and will have some new blood on the sideline to do so as the team announced on Wednesday the signing of tackle D.J. Young from the practice squad.

Young, the 6-5, 298 pound undrafted rookie out of Michigan State and Bowling Green, spent the entire season on the Cards practice squad after being released from the team back on Sept. 2, but will now join the team for the last game of the season, giving the Cards more depth on the offensive line with Brandon Keith playing a bit banged up these days.

Young started 23 games on the o-line in two seasons with Michigan State, then at Bowling Green after a transfer. Young will wear #67 for the Cardinals.

In a corresponding roster move wide receiver Jaymar Johnson was released by the team, but was immediately re-signed to the practice squad.

First order of business for the Cardinals is their QB question, which is looking like it has it’s answer as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that John Skelton will likely be the starter for the Cards:

Arizona Cardinals Injury Report: Kevin Kolb, Todd…

Read More: Kevin Kolb (QB – ARI), Todd Heap (TE – ARI)

On the eve of Thanksgiving, it appears that the Arizona Cardinals are closer to getting some key players back for game action. Quarterback Kevin Kolb and tight end Todd Heap, both important offseason acquisitions, participated in practice in a limited fashion. There is some optimism that they may be able to play on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

Kolb took about 35 to 40 percent of the snaps with the first team, according to his own estimation and also about half the snaps with the scout team. If his foot and toe respond well to the action, it will allow him more reps in practice and a likely return to game action and starting against the Rams.

In addition to Heap (hamstring), fellow tight end Rob Housler (groin) also was limited in practice. Michael Adams (hamstring) and Beanie Wells (knee) were also limited.

There were four players who did not practice. As expected, safety Kerry Rhodes (foot) and linebacker Joey Porter (knee) were out. In addition to them, tackles Brandon Keith and Jeremy Bridges did not practice. Keith is recovering from a concussion he suffered against the 49ers and Bridges was out due to non-football reasons.

The other three players on the injury report fully practiced. LaRod Stephens-Howling (shoulder) and Paris Lenon (groin) have been listed now for a couple of weeks. Darnell Dockett (groin) appeared on the list as well.

What are your opinions.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles -…

John Skelton needs to find Larry Fitzgerald

The basic scouting report on the Eagles is that you can run against them, but better think twice about throwing. There is some truth to that, because the Eagles are allowing 5 yards per rush. But they can be vulnerable via the air, too, having allowed 14 passing touchdowns. The Cardinals, whose secondary gets ripped, have yielded 9. The Cardinals, however, might not be built to score through the air against the Eagles. Their tackles, Levi Brown and Brandon Keith, are not good in pass protection, and Eagles ends Jason Babin and Trent Cole can bring pressure. Cardinals quarterback John Skelton must do a better job finding receiver Larry Fitzgerald when he’s in single coverage.

Edge: Eagles.
